New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger (FAH)
New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger (FAH) is a “gleaning” program. Volunteers help glean, or harvest, surplus produce from farms across NJ, and FAH staff distribute the produce to community organizations that serve those in need: food banks, soup kitchens, church pantries, and other hunger relief agencies. FAH also collects surplus produce from grocery stores and wholesalers, rescuing more than 1.5 million pounds of produce annually from all sources. This gleaned produce helps feed about 7,500 people weekly during the harvest season, and because it is food that would otherwise have been thrown away, gleaning also helps reduce food waste. FAH works with more than 50 farms and about 85 community organizations, and relies on help from about 1,200 volunteers each year. Please consider joining FAH in the fight against hunger and food waste. To receive notifications of gleaning volunteer activities, you can join our email list by visiting our website at www.njagsociety.org or by emailing Lynn Flannery at gleaning.fah@gmail.com. You can also follow us on Facebook at NJ Farmers Against Hunger or Twitter at @NJ_FAH to get updates.

The Clare Estate
The Clare Estate offers top quality senior living on all care levels. Our senior living services and wellness care include a variety of options for all seniors, whether they choose independent living, assisted living, enhanced care, or memory care services. We are not a traditional care facility; we are a home specialized in the care and support of your loved one. We pride ourselves on the longevity of care providers who really get to know and bond with our resident as an extension of your family. One may think Alzheimer's disease is the end of the story, in reality it is just the beginning of a new chapter that can be filled with great meaning and purpose. Making one resident smile can change the world, maybe not the entire world, but their world. We are currently looking for individuals who are compassionate and strive to make others smile. We are in search of people who are artists, musicians, and interested in sitting and chatting with our residents. The many crafts we offer, including bead making, tie blanket making, & artwork inspired by famous artists, encourage our residents to share their talents. One may never expect it, but even in our most reserved residents, an artist dwells! What we expect from our volunteers is a compassionate nature, willing to take part in our daily activities such as exercise, bingo, reading groups, crafts, cognitive exercises, and coffee socials. Feel free to contact us via e-mail or phone with any questions or comments. dmolinelli@theclareestate.come or (609)298-9960 ask for the activities department.
