American Red Cross - New Jersey Region –– Volunteers are needed to help in Disaster Assistance and Blood Services. Volunteers in Disaster Assistance are trained and able to respond to local Disasters, assist in Shelters, and provide mental health assistance. Blood Services volunteers assist with Registration and Refreshments at Blood Drives or/and to help transport blood for processing. Virtual administrative opportunities in multiple departments are also available. There are opportunities for students to participate in youth group activities and Red Cross projects. Samaritan is a non-profit agency caring for people in our communities with serious, progressive illness and grief wherever they live without regard for their ability to pay. Volunteers are desired for companionship visits to patients and their families, veteran visits with fellow veterans, pet therapy visits, music performance, office support, bereavement phone calls, support calls, greeting/escorting families and answering calls at our Samaritan Center at Voorhees, Thrift Store support, Community Ambassadors, and committees. Complimentary orientation and training is provided. Teen Volunteering: SamariTeens group for teens 14-17 years old interested in volunteering on an on-going basis. No mandatory requirements; participate whenever you’re available! Participate in independent craft projects, provide community support at events, assist at Samaritan annual events. DESCRIPTION:
Touch someone else's heart... Support Samaritan's families by making mini clay heart keepsakes for our staff to share as part of a ritual with our families who just lost their loved one on Samaritan’s services.

Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital seeks volunteers 16 years or older to interact hands on with children in the Medical Daycare Center or Therapeutic Recreation Department playing games, reading stories provide TLC and socializing with patients. Volunteers commit to a minimum of 2 hours a week, for a minimum of 3 months. We also seek assistance with clerical support.
